Today I read in the New York Times that Alabama had declared that from here on out all immigrants could be legally asked to show identification, papers...whatever else needed to prove that they were legally allowed to live here in the United States. Needless to say, all illegal aliens (yes, I said aliens) took their belongings, piled into a vehicle and left. Most took off for a nearby state that continues to choose to ignore the law. Wow...Alabama...what that must feel like to live in a state that choose to actually enforce the law. Shocking!
Note To Self: So glad my immigrant grandparents did it the legal way. My grandmother's purse was enormous and it would have taken forever for her to dig around in that abyss to find those damned papers.
